How are Fees Calculated?
The successful and smooth running of the Portmarnock Swim Team relies on the timely payment of fees, and the Portmarnock Swim Team Committee is grateful to families for their ongoing cooperation and support.
The fee for the Portmarnock Swim Team includes:
- Swim Ireland Membership & Insurance (via Swim Ireland membership);
- Pool hire;
- Gym hire; and
- Coaching time.
We are a not-for-profit club. As a result, we charge the minimum amount possible to cover the costs of each squad.
It should be noted that we must hire the PSLC and any other pools we use (like the National Aquatic Centre) on a monthly basis. Pools must be booked for the year based on the maximum amount of swimmers, so refunds or reductions are not possible if a swimmer cannot make all of the sessions.
How are Fees Collected?
There are two payment options available:
- Payment in monthly installments over a 10 month period from September to June (which is the expected default option); or
- Payment in full.
If you wish to pay in full, please contact the Treasurer to make the necessary arrangements. Otherwise, you will be sent a payment link on a monthly basis for the fees.
Swimming fees are collected through via the Club Management Software used for the Portmarnock Swim Team, after following a link provided by the Treasurer. We do not accepts payments via bank transfer.
There is no ‘pay as you go’ option since pool hire and coaching costs are fixed.
What about Discounts for Siblings?
For the 2024 to 2025 season, we are pleased to introduce a 5% discount for every second child and all subsequent children.
What about Gala Fees?
Gala fees are required to be paid in advance by each gala organiser. The club will manage this in a bulk payment for each gala for all swimmers.
There is a €5 additional fee per swimmer per gala to contribute towards coaching costs.
The treasurer will issue you an invoice for each gala and you can pay by following the payment link provided.
Unfortunately gala organisers do not issue refunds if swimmers do not attend.
Are there any Other Fees?
For swimmers who qualify for Summer Nationals, the Portmarnock Swim Team may charge an additional fee to contribute towards additional swimming sessions in July.
Parents will be notified of these fees in the May or June prior to the Summer Nationals.
Leaving the Portmarnock Swim Team?
In the event that a swimmer leaves the Portmarnock Swim Team, you must:
- Notify the Treasurer in writing.
- Give at least one month’s notice.
Fees are owed up to and including the month that the notice is given. For example, if a parent notifies us on 1 October that their child is leaving, or has already left, fees will need to be paid through 31 October.
What if my Child is Injured or Sick for a Significant Period of Time?
If a swimmer is unwell or injured for four weeks or more, notify the Membership Secretary and Treasurer in writing. The Portmarnock Swim Team will consider a reduction of fees.
Each case will be considered individually by the Treasurer and Chairman.
